| Salutas Pharma Selects Systec & Services Once Again for Hardware Integration and Validation Services |

19 March 2007 Karlsruhe, 19 March 2007 – Salutas Pharma GmbH has chosen Systec & Services GmbH as GMP IT hardware supplier and service provider for two projects at their Magdeburg location. After successful completion of earlier projects, Salutas has entrusted Systec & Services with two new projects in the production and packaging areas. Both projects were completed in December 2006.The growing business at Salutas Pharma led to an increase in production capacity. For a new „big bag“ filling station from AZO, Salutas tasked Systec & Services for the third time with supplying and installing a complete operating station, including industrial PC, membrane keyboard, housing, operator panel, wireless scanner, label printer and validation services for the entire system. At the same time, an old packaging line in the tablet production area was replaced with a new IMA line that meets the current requirements of the growing business. Systec & Services provided the IT hardware and the BDE connection. The core of the system consists of a master line control station (LIMOS) for monitoring efficiency on the line. The BDE connection is achieved with an embedded PC on which the soft PLC is installed. Operating data from the line are gathered via a PROFIBUS fieldbus, linked as appropriate and forwarded via OPC to the line control computer. The system is rounded out with an ERSD (electronic room status display) on which relevant production data from the entire line are displayed. Peripherals that were connected to each system include label printers, wireless barcode scanners, and mobile, handheld terminals with integrated scanners.
