The existing weighing system at the Berlin site had to be replaced with a weighing system that would comply with the current requirements according to FDA 21 CFR Part 11, FDA CFR 21 Part 210 & 211 and EU-GMP Guidelines Annex 11. Furthermore the new weighing system also had to be documented and validated according to governmental regulations and GAMP guidelines. The system was installed at two master PC work stations, which will enable the weighing work stations to be centrally managed, and another 9 work stations were installed with the RS PMX™ MES Dispense Solution, where up to 3 scales from Mettler Toledo, Systec or Ohaus were hooked up. The weighing system had to use an interface to communicate with the ERP SAP/R3 ECC 5.0. The solution installed is based on both the RS PMX™ MES Dispense Solution and on the RS PMX™ MES Connect for implementing the SAP integration.
