Systec & Services has been an established player in the life sciences industry since 2002. As a provider of solutions and consultancy services for production-related questions, Systec & Services successfully supports countless companies - from small contract manufacturers to globally active corporations.

Management

Hermann Schaefer - Managing Director

For the past 20 years, he has successfully worked in various roles in professional services, business management, and sales, both nationally and internationally.
Before starting at Systec & Services, he was part of the Executive Management Board at POET AG and prior to that led the European Life Science sales team at Rockwell Automation's Information Solutions group. As a business manager he played a key role in the successful establishment and expansion of the US business of Propack Data.
Hermann Schaefer has more than 20 years' experience in the life sciences industry with a focus on commercial production and clinical studies. He was responsible for several global projects at international companies.

At Systec & Services, Hermann Schaefer manages business development, international expansion, and finance.

Jörg Erdmann - Vice President Manufacturing Consulting

After his diploma in computer science at the University of Karlsruhe, Joerg Erdmann started his professional life 1994 as software engineer
In 1996 he moved to Propack Data GmbH, Karlsruhe, and has been gathering experience in the life science industry since then.
With the acquisition of Propack Data by Rockwell Automation, Joerg Erdmann moved to European management jobs. He spent several years as Business Manager Life Sciences, responsible for the strategy and commercial results of the Life Science segment for the Rockwell Automation MES and Automation portfolio. At Systec & Services, Jörg Erdmann most recently led a consulting team and managed projects of international clients.

Today Joerg Erdmann is Vice President Manufacturing Consulting and is managing the consulting business.

Business Area Managers

Rainer Hofmann - Business Director MES

After studying mechanical engineering and completing his postgraduate studies as industrial engineer, Rainer Hofmann started his career at Propack Data in 1995.
His first phase as a project engineer was followed by managing several MES projects for well-known national and international pharmaceutical clients, as well as carrying out duties and responsibilities in product management. From 1999, he was team leader in the Project Services division.
In 2002, Rainer Hofmann joined T-Systems International GmbH as Senior Consultant for Supply chain management. His tasks were topic responsibility and development as well as team leadership in automotive retail. Finally he accompanied the SAP R/3 implementation by T-Systems at this customer in close cooperation with SAP AG.

Rainer Hofmann is responsible for the MES Services business unit at Systec & Services since April 2007.

Melanie Schnurr - Team Manager Validation Services, QM Representative

Melanie Schnurr started her career in 2003 as technical writer and software tester at the Rockwell Automation GmbH.
In 2005 she moved to Systec & Services GmbH and established a QM system according to DIN EN ISO 9001.
Besides taking care of the internal quality management system, Melanie Schnurr is responsible for numerous projects in the life science sector as validation manager and consultant. This includes Computer System Validation (CSV).

Melanie Schnurr heads the IT Validation Services.

Titus Krauss - Director Sales & Marketing

After achieving the degree of Master of Sciences at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences Titus Krauss started his career at ABB Fertigungsleittechnik GmbH in Mannheim in 1993.
In 1995 he moved on to Propack Data GmbH in Karlsruhe. Within his eleven years at Propack Data he first acted as project manager, then as sales consultant and finally as marketing manager. During that time Titus Krauss built up his expertise in the Life Sciences Industry.
In 2006 Titus Krauss changed to Siemens AG, and was initially responsible for the MES business in the life science industry. He later took over a position as life sciences business development manager for the Automation and IT portfolio where he brought in his wide expertise in the life sciences industry.
Since March 2010 he is member of the ISPE-DACH organization committee.

At Systec & Services, Titus Krauss heads the sales & marketing business unit since January 2010.

Dr. August Ludviksson - Director Development

In 1978 Dr. Ludviksson came to Karlsruhe, Germany for his physics studies from his native Iceland. After his diploma in 1984, he continued at the Karlsruhe University (KIT) in order to achieve his doctor’s degree in physics in 1989.
For ten years he worked as a Programmer and Developer at the FIZ in Karlsruhe, interrupted by almost a year at "Chemical Abstracts Services" in Columbus, Ohio, USA, where he was a database developer.
In 1999 he joined Propack-Data in Karlsruhe as a software developer and shortly after, in the year 2000, he became team leader of applied research. For one year he then acted as an independent consultant, before Dr. Ludviksson joining Systec & Services Karlsruhe in 2004. He has steadily expanded his responsibilities here, from technical project manager and senior developer to his current position as director development.

Dr. August Ludviksson heads the development department for Systec & Services.

Philipp Kläsle - Business Director

Philipp Kläsle, M.Sc. in Business Information (University Konstanz) and B.Sc. in Informatics (University Karlsruhe) started his career with Systec & Services GmbH Germany in November 2011 as a Consultant and subsequently became a team manager. In 2015 he became the first employee at our newly established business, Systec & Services Switzerland GmbH. Philipp is managing several client projects, is the point of contact for key accounts, and, since 2016, is heading the Swiss team.

Today Philipp Kläsle is responsible for the Systec & Services business in Switzerland.

 

Michael Völlinger - Business Director

After studying Information Management at KIT, Michael worked for Systec & Services for more than 6 years in various positions, including Functional Consultant, Project Manager, Program Manager and Team Leader.
Afterwards Michael was responsible for global serialization for Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the USA for about 3 years at Grünenthal GmbH.
The certified Senior Project Manager (IPMA ® Level B) also knows logistics very well.

At Systec & Services, Michael Völlinger is heading the "Projects and Consulting" department since September 2019 and is responsible for projects for international customers.
